About Barbara
Barbara A. King is a self-taught artist, born in Irvington, New Jersey. She took to art as soon as she was able to hold a crayon. Throughout her childhood, Barbara developed an appreciation for her majestic surroundings. She would often sit for hours with a pencil and pad, or sit in a meadow with a canvas. Years of artistic expression made it clear that Barbara’s life would be centered upon her passion for art. Her father Charles J. Mc Mann would let her paint murals on the basement walls of their home. He passed away in 1975 in a car accident, at this time she stopped painting. Years later she started to oil paint again. Her great grandfather was a miniature portrait painter in Hungry. To Barbara painting is like breathing. She worked at Community Medical Center in Toms River New Jersey.
All art is dedicated to my loving husband, Donald D. King Junior
